When it comes to smoothies, I’m obsessed. Whether it’s an array of green smoothies or fruit smoothies, you can always find me sipping on one after a workout since I find that they really help you to refuel…and of course, they’re delicious. One smoothie that funny enough, I rarely make is a strawberry banana smoothie. After making it several times with many different ingredients, I’ve found a Strawberry Banana Smoothie that I’m in love with.

Let’s go.

So let me give you the down-low on this smoothie. I made this smoothie with frozen strawberries, fresh bananas and orange juice. That’s it. It’s such a simple and beautiful smoothie and SO incredibly was to make that you have no choice but to make it over and over. There is essentially no prep time, and it just blends together very smoothly. I love that this smoothie is thick, but not incredibly so. If you wanted yours thicker you could add another ½ cup of frozen strawberries.

I find that when making smoothies, citrus has always been one of my most favourite ingredients. I’m not sure why but it not only adds a beautiful bright colour to the smoothie but gives it a delicious taste. While I love a sweet smoothie, it can get really sweet too quickly since tons of fruits are really sweet, and I find that citruses tend to balance it out.

I add frozen fruit because I find that when I add ice in smoothies it waters them down. You could also freeze the banana if you wanted and throw it in, and feel free to add other ingredients. Flax seeds, chia seeds, maybe even some pistachios (which would taste AMAZING with the strawberries) to pump up the nutrition of the smoothie. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to get to drinking my delicious creamy and smooth strawberry banana smoothie!
