Happy Thanksgiving!! It’s been such a fun journey for me leading up to this day to be providing you and your family and friends with lots of amazing recipes to enjoy for this holiday. Over here on Jessica in the Kitchen, Thanksgiving is actually the biggest food holiday, reader wise! I love getting your questions and helping you to craft the perfect day based on dietary preferences, allergies and all other factors.

I wanted to do a quick and short post to express my gratitude. This year has been so amazing to me, and I’m so grateful for a lot of people, events and circumstances that helped to shape the year for me.

Grateful for: loved ones who want the very best for me. I was so fortunate this year to be surrounded by, and ONLY by, family and friends who wanted the very best for me in this life, in my business, my marriage, and everything. Having a support that that almost lifts you up spiritually and mentally ALL the time has been such a game changer for me. My support group has been there for me, through it all. They have been there for me to lean on, to help give me constructive criticism, to guide me through a lot of situations, and to most of all, keep me laughing and keep me uplifted. Thank you. If you’ve helped me in anyway this year, thank you so much, but I do want to give a special shoutout to my dream team. To my girls’ night girlfriends Tiki, Quida, and Kel, you guys (girls) rock and bring so much light to my day – SO MUCH. To my main of honour/bff Ashli, you’re amazing babe, thank you for all that you do to help me with my business! To my amazing parents, thank you for the world – for endless guidance, for unconditional love, and for always putting my health and wellbeing first. To my husband, wow, you mean everything to me. To my brother, Konrad, who has helped me in so many little ways that you may not even realise through so many book recommendations and personality test recommendations, thank you for always helping to guide me in the right direction. To my brother, Ben, for being the most honest taste tester and always, always asking for more of my pumpkin bread, you are such a light of happiness and laughter in my life.

Grateful for: my husband. Of course, my husband is one of my loved ones. Separately, however, I am so grateful for him. You have been alongside me for so long, helping to guide my every step, and helping with everything from alllllllll those dishes to ensuring I eat on time. Your support has meant the world to me. I am grateful that we are so much on the same level spiritually, share the same corny yet hilarious humour, and have the same obsession with sci-fi. Thank you for staying up with me on the late nights, and always wanting the best for me.

Grateful for: spiritual guidance. This year has really been one of mental and spiritual awakening for me. Allowing God to really lead me was a challenge at first, but when I properly surrendered, then surrendered some more as Gabrielle Bernstein says, it made the biggest difference. I am by no means a guru, and I am so grateful to still be learning something new every single day. This has led me to really focus on prayer in a more meaningful way than I ever have, to make meditation a daily practice, and to practice self care as often as I can. It’s taught me to realise that I need to put myself first on my to do list in order to properly serve others. If I’m tired and beaten down, I can’t help others, so I’ve put a real practice into ensuring I get proper sleep, proper nutrition and and proper uplifting.

Grateful for: my career. WOW. I mean, last year when I retired from law and decided to do this full time, I never would’ve imagined I would be here now. Actually believing in my self was huge, and think helped to catapult me in this ever growing direction. I can’t wait to see what the rest of my journey has in store. Everyday I say, what problem can I solve by posting this recipe, or that post, or even this IG post. I LOVE what I do, every single day, even when it’s stressful and hard, and it helps me to keep going, everyday and all day. I am ready for what is to come for the rest of the year and beyond.

Grateful for: you, my readers. Honestly, I’m getting teary-eyed writing this part. What a blessing it has been to be a part of YOUR lives. Okay, now I’m crying. Every comment, means something to me. Even more than that, when you tag me in your recipe creations, or send me personal photos to my email, it means SO much to me. I am so grateful that I get to help to make a difference in your lives, big or small, to help bring you closer to your family and loves ones. To help serve you. Believe me, it is what keeps me going everyday. Going back to the idea of solving a problem for you, I am happy that this is what I get to do with my life. It went so much deeper this year than any year before, so I can’t wait to see what’s in store!!
