Vegan Pie Crusts Apples Lemon Juice Cane Sugar Cinnamon Nutmeg Vegan Butter Vanilla Cornstarch Sea Salt
Chop the apple into small pieces, then pour over the lemon juice, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and sea salt and stir to combine thoroughly.
Add the apple mixture to melted, sizzling butter. Cook until apples are slightly tender, stirring occasionally. Then add in the cornstarch slurry and vanilla.
Place the pie crust in your pie dish, crimping the edges, then add the apples. Roll out your second crust into a disc and slice into thin rectangular strips.
Layer the strips in a lattice work pattern on top of the pie crust. Brush with a vegan egg wash and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat and bake for 45 minutes.
Allow to cool completely at room temperature and then in the fridge for at least 4 hours but preferably overnight.
