STOP THE PRESS. Everything you know is a lie, because if you’ve never tried grilled pineapples, you need to make them this summer. In fact, they are so easy to make it’s embarrassing to call this a recipe, but I need to share this with you since it’s grilling season! They are, without a doubt, the best way to grill fruit that you’ll ever make. I didn’t use anything else other than heat and pineapples and you’re left with juicy, caramelised, warm pineapples that will taste amazing with and ON everything.

Oh, it also only takes ten minutes maximum of cooking time.

You probably know by now that not only do I love pineapples, but I also love grilled fruit. I’ve always loved barbecuing. The heat process naturally caramelises the sugars in the fruit, turning them into a real treat. That’s exactly the case for these grilled pineapples.

If you’re ever wondered how to bbq pineapple, or how to grill it, it’s probably the easiest thing you’ll make on your grill. All you need is a good, strong consistent heat and some pineapple slices. I like thick slices, so about an inch thick. Add it to the grill and heat it on each side. Each grill and pineapple is different, so put down one slice if you’re doing it for the very first time. Grill them on either side for a few minutes, flip, and that’s it.

It’s hard to describe just how divine they are, but those burn mark are actually the sugar bubbling over aka it’s ALL edible and delicious and juicy and sweet and to die for.

There are SO many uses for grilled pineapples. Think – everything you’d usually use it for, except with triple the flavour now:

With a scoop of ice cream and some rum

On top of your burger in a pineapple salsa

A caramelised pineapple smoothie – um YES

In your fruit salad

With some mint and coconut

By itself because honestly I sat down and almost ate a whole pineapple after one bite.

Happy Grilling!!
