“Every 47 minutes, a woman tests positive for HIV in the United States.“

Today, March 10, United States recognizes National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD). Launched by the Office of Women’s Health, NWGHAAD is a nationwide observance that encourages people to take action in the fight against HIV/AIDS and raise awareness of its impact on women and girls.

You may have seen the badge on my page:

It’s from Rock the Red Pump’s Campaign.

I decided to take part in this cause because I’m a big advocate in all things right not only for women but for men too. However, if there’s something I can do to help bring positive awareness of the needs of my fellow people then I will definitely help!
To me AIDS is a terrible disease that has taken too many lives, but I do believe that those who are alive and have to unfortunately suffer with it should get as much support as we can possibly give them, instead of having to live alone and estranged in their possible last days on earth. Everyone should be seen as equal and that’s why I love campaigns like this.

I’m taking part in Irie Diva’s Blog Hop and you can take part there too! You can also take part by uploading photos of yourself in red pumps and tweeting the hashtag #RocktheRedPump!
